Extensive hiking trails, which begin directly behind the Sheraton Davos Hotel Waldhuus, are great for an idyllic walk or an athletic mountaineering trip. Interested in cross-country skiing? In winter you can strap on your skis right in front of the hotel and set off on the well-maintained skiing tracks.
Hiking, panoramic mountain bike tours, golf and swimming in Lake Davos are among the top summer activities. Which of those is your favourite? The courageous can try their hand at paragliding. Children will enjoy the minigolf course, while golfers will certainly appreciate the nearby 18-hole golf course.
As a guest at the Sheraton Davos Hotel Waldhuus you can use the free winter transfer to Jakobshorn and Parsenn cable car (according to schedule). Which summit you decide to scale is entirely up to you - they are all beautiful. Over 700 km of well-marked hiking trails and mountain paths as well as 300 km of ski pistes await you. Lush mountain pastures, sparkling mountain streams, mountain lakes and the old, still-intact Walser settlements are just waiting to be discovered.
You will also be surprised by the variety of alpine plants: The Alpinum Schatzalp botanical garden displays over 3,500 species of alpine plants from mountains all over the world. The Clavadeleralp showcase cheese factory is also interesting to visit.
Davos is home to Europe's largest natural ice skating rink, and you will be amazed at what there is to discover just 2 km away at the Winter Sport Museum. We recommend the Kirchner Museum Davos for art lovers. The museum is dedicated to the works of the German Expressionist Ernst Ludwig Kirchner (1880 - 1938), who lived in Davos from 1917 until his death. By the way: Thomas Mann's novel "The Magic Mountain" is set in Davos.
